Terms of Use for Lotse

Effective date: 2026-11-02

These terms apply to your use of the Lotse app ("Lotse", formerly "Jules Console") from Mahbob Alhoussen, Germany ("I", "me"; address and contact details in the Impressum). By using Lotse you accept them. If you buy a subscription through Apple or Google, the store's own terms also apply (for Apple: the standard license agreement, https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/).

1. The service

Lotse lets you connect your GitHub repositories, describe a change, and have an AI agent work on it in the cloud and open a pull request. It is run by one person on a limited budget, so:

  • Free while capacity lasts. Free use (including trial tasks) depends on available capacity and may be limited, paused or ended at any time.
  • Quotas. Usage is limited by daily task limits that reset every day. The limits shown in the app apply. They differ for free and Pro use and may change.
  • Availability. I do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular response time or support for every language, framework or repository. Some repositories (for example those that need a database, a browser or Android tooling to test) may be rejected or give weaker results.

You need an account (Google, Apple or verified e-mail) and a GitHub account.

2. AI output comes without warranty

The result is generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, insecure or infringe third-party rights. It is provided as is, without any warranty that it works, passes your tests or is fit for any purpose. You review every pull request before you merge or deploy it. You are responsible for what you merge. Test results shown in a pull request are informational.

You can report a problematic result from the task screen.

3. Your code and your data

You keep all rights to your repositories and to the results. You allow me to process your repository contents and task descriptions only as needed to run your tasks, including sending them to AI providers through OpenRouter, as described in the privacy policy. Only use Lotse on code you have the right to process this way, and do not put secrets or other people's personal data in repositories you send.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Lotse to:

  • create malware, attack tools or other malicious or illegal code;
  • work on repositories you have no right to use or to open pull requests against;
  • break the rules of GitHub, OpenRouter or the model providers, or try to get around quotas, limits or security;
  • overload, probe or attack the service, or resell access to it.

I may stop tasks, and limit or close accounts, that break these rules.

5. Subscriptions ("Lotse Pro")

Lotse Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly by Apple or Google. Price, length and renewal terms are shown before you buy. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel at any time in the subscription settings of Google Play or the App Store; I cannot cancel it for you. Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. Deleting your Lotse account does not cancel a subscription. Pro raises limits and removes ads; it does not remove quotas altogether. Because AI costs can change, I may adjust limits, with notice in the app.

6. Jules (legacy)

Jules is a service of Google. Google ends it on 31 December 2026. Jules features in Lotse become read-only and are removed on 1 January 2027. I am not responsible for Google's service or its discontinuation.

7. Liability

I am liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act, and where I have given a guarantee. For slight negligence I am liable only for the breach of an essential contractual obligation (one that makes the proper performance of the contract possible and on which you can rely), and then limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise liability is excluded as far as German law allows. Your repositories stay under your control in git; reviewing changes and keeping backups is your responsibility.

8. Changes and ending

I may change these terms or the service for good reasons, for example changes in law or in costs. I will tell you in the app before material changes take effect. You can stop using Lotse and delete your account at any time (Settings, Delete account).

9. Law and jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this applies only as far as the mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence does not give you more. I am neither willing nor obliged to take part in consumer arbitration proceedings.
